ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new exercise program designed to help people who have had a stroke improve their walking ability. The program focuses on strengthening the muscles that lift the foot, which can often be weak after a stroke. By starting this exercise early, researchers hope to help patients regain strength and walk more effectively, making it easier for them to participate in social activities once they leave the hospital. The study will last for six weeks and aims to see if this exercise program can increase walking speed.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between the ages of 65 and 74 and have experienced their first stroke within the last three months. They must be able to walk at least 10 meters, even if they need some help. However, people with certain conditions, such as serious mobility issues before their stroke or significant stiffness in the ankle, may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you will receive guidance on the exercise program, and your progress will be monitored throughout the study. This is a great opportunity to potentially improve your walking and overall recovery after a stroke.
