ClinConnect Summary
The SNOW Trial is studying a new approach to help reduce the amount of the COVID-19 virus in the nose and throat of adults who have recently tested positive for the virus. The trial is open to adults aged 18 to 65 who are currently isolating due to a first-time positive test for COVID-19, whether or not they are showing symptoms. Participants will use a combination of nasal washes with a baby shampoo solution and oral gargles with Listerine for four days. The goal is to see if this method is more effective at lowering the viral load compared to using regular saline washes.
To participate, individuals must be diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last five days and be able to follow the study requirements. However, those who have had certain medical conditions, previous treatments, or specific surgeries may not be eligible. Participants can expect to try this intervention safely, and the study aims to determine if it is an acceptable and effective way to help manage the virus. If you or someone you know is interested, this could be an opportunity to contribute to important research while potentially benefiting from the treatment.
