ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how exercise affects fat tissue and overall health in people who are overweight or have metabolic issues, like insulin resistance. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will follow an exercise program while the other will not exercise at all. Everyone will first go through a weight loss program where they will aim to lose 10% of their body weight. After this, they will switch to a high-calorie diet to regain some of the weight they lost, and then they will undergo several health tests again.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 18 and 40 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) between 27 and 45 (which means they are overweight), and not have exercised regularly for the past six months. Women must have regular menstrual cycles and cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding. Participants can expect to be involved in various tests related to their metabolism before and after the weight loss and regain phases. It's important to note that individuals with certain health conditions or those taking specific medications will not be able to participate. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it's a great opportunity to learn more about how exercise can influence health.
