ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different diets can affect people with moderate chronic kidney disease (CKD), specifically those in stages IIIA and IIIB. The researchers want to compare two types of diets: one that includes normal protein but is low in advanced glycation end products (AGEs), which are harmful compounds found in certain cooked foods, and another that has normal protein but is high in AGEs. The goal is to see if changing the way people eat can help slow down the progression of kidney disease.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 89 years old and have been diagnosed with stage IIIA or IIIB chronic kidney disease. You also need to be able to give your consent to join the trial. Unfortunately, if you have acute kidney failure or are already following a low-AGE diet, you won't be eligible to participate. If you join the study, you can expect to follow one of the two diets and help the researchers learn more about how diet impacts kidney health. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information that could benefit others with kidney disease in the future.
