ClinConnect Summary
The Napoleon Measurement of Gastrojejunal Anastomosis trial is studying a new device called Napoleon, which is designed to measure a specific part of the stomach after gastric bypass surgery. This trial is focused on patients who have had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery and are experiencing weight regain. Participants will be those aged 18 to 90 who are scheduled for an endoscopy, a procedure that allows doctors to look inside the stomach. If you have had complications from previous endoscopies, you may not be eligible to join the study.
During the trial, doctors will first look at the size of the gastrojejunal anastomosis (the connection point between the stomach and small intestine) using their eyes. Then, they will use the Napoleon device to take a more precise measurement. The goal is to see how accurate the device is compared to the doctors' visual estimates. Participants can expect to answer a survey about how easy they found using the Napoleon device. This study is a step toward improving how doctors monitor and manage weight regain in patients who have had gastric bypass surgery.
