ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to detect early signs of Type 1 diabetes in young children. The researchers want to find out if screening for specific antibodies in the blood can help identify children at risk for developing this condition before they show any symptoms. They will be screening up to 50,000 children in Israel, specifically those aged between 9 months and 5 years. The screening will start when the child is about 1 year old and will continue until they are 5, using a very sensitive blood test that can detect these antibodies earlier than traditional methods.
To participate, children must be between 9 months and 5 years old and not already diagnosed with diabetes. If a child tests positive for the antibodies, they will have follow-up tests to confirm the results and will be monitored regularly for any signs of diabetes. Families will also have access to educational programs on diabetes, focusing on prevention and support. This trial aims to improve how we detect and manage Type 1 diabetes in young children, helping to ensure they receive the care and information they need.
