ClinConnect Summary
The STEPWISE Parkinson trial is looking at whether a smartphone app can help people with Parkinson's Disease be more active in their daily lives over a period of 12 months. The goal is to see if using this app can encourage participants to exercise more and improve their overall health.
To be eligible for the study, participants need to have a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, be able to walk independently, and speak Dutch. They should also be doing less than 120 minutes of sports or outdoor activities each day and taking fewer than 7,000 steps daily. People who have fallen frequently, have other serious health issues affecting their mobility, live in nursing homes, or have difficulty using smartphones may not qualify. If you join the study, you'll be asked to use the app regularly, and researchers will monitor your activity levels over the year. This could be a great opportunity to potentially improve your health while contributing to important research!
