ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Cognitive Decline in Asymptomatic Intracranial Stenosis Patients: A 1-Year Follow-Up Study," is looking at how standard medical treatment affects thinking and memory in patients who have narrowing of certain blood vessels in the brain, known as asymptomatic intracranial stenosis. Researchers want to learn if these patients experience cognitive decline over a year and understand the brain changes through specialized imaging techniques. The study is currently recruiting participants, and anyone aged 65 to 74 or 29 to 219 years old can apply, as long as they have at least a 50% narrowing in the internal carotid artery or middle cerebral artery, confirmed by specific imaging tests.
To be eligible, participants must not have had a stroke, seizures, or any serious mental health issues. They also should not have any implanted devices like pacemakers or a history of substance abuse in the past six months. If you join the study, you can expect regular check-ups and brain scans to assess your cognitive health and monitor any changes over time. This trial aims to improve our understanding of how brain health can be maintained in patients with this condition.
