ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different factors can help predict the success of surgery for a condition called hallux valgus, commonly known as bunions. Researchers want to understand both clinical aspects (like the severity of the bunion) and radiological aspects (like X-ray results) that might influence how well patients do after their surgery. The study is currently recruiting participants, and anyone aged 65 to 74 who is scheduled for bunion surgery at the ØHT hospital can be invited to join.
To be part of this study, patients should not have had previous bunion surgery on the same foot, and they need to be able to attend follow-up appointments. They should also be comfortable communicating in English or Norwegian. Participants in the trial can expect to share their experiences and undergo assessments before and after their surgery, helping researchers learn more about what factors contribute to successful outcomes. This information could ultimately help improve care for future patients facing this type of surgery.
