ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at two types of weight-loss surgeries: One-Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB). The goal is to see if OAGB is as safe and effective as RYGB for people struggling with obesity. Both surgeries help with weight loss and can improve related health conditions, but this study will help determine if OAGB can be a good alternative.

To participate in this trial, you should be between 18 and 75 years old, and have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher, or a BMI of 35 or higher with certain health issues like type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure. Before joining, you will need a positive assessment from a medical team. It's important to note that people with certain conditions, like chronic diarrhea or a history of specific surgeries, may not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive thorough medical care and support throughout the study.
