ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how virtual reality (VR) can help children with cancer in Hong Kong who are dealing with tough symptoms like nausea, vomiting, sleep problems, and pain caused by their treatments. Research has shown that hypnosis can be effective in managing these symptoms, and using VR might make hypnosis even more effective. Since there hasn't been a study on this in Hong Kong's Chinese children yet, this trial aims to find out if using a VR device can really help improve their quality of life during cancer treatment.
To join the study, children must be between the ages of 9 and 18, able to read Chinese and speak Cantonese, and have a cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, those with certain mental disabilities or cognitive issues won't be eligible to participate. If chosen for the trial, participants will have the opportunity to use the VR device to help manage their symptoms, and their experiences will be closely monitored to see how effective this approach is.
