ClinConnect Summary
The Alzheimer's Companion Engagement (ACE) Project is a clinical trial aimed at helping Black family caregivers who look after older adults with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. This study focuses on understanding how targeted support and health interventions can improve the well-being of these caregivers. Many Black caregivers face additional stress and health risks, and the goal is to provide them with tools and resources to manage their own health better while also caring for their loved ones. This pilot program will test whether community-based support can really make a difference in their lives.
To participate in the trial, individuals must identify as Black or African American, be at least 18 years old, and have a close relationship with someone over 55 who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's or shows signs of cognitive impairment. Participants should also be comfortable using technology, as they will engage in video conferencing for support and activities. If you join, you can expect to receive guidance and resources tailored to your needs, which may help improve your health and caregiving experience. The trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you or someone you know fits the criteria, this could be a great opportunity to get support while contributing to important research.
