ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on adapting a program called ATTACH™ to help parents and their young children (ages birth to 32 months) who are facing challenges like depression, addiction, domestic violence, and poverty. The goal is to provide support for families during the COVID-19 pandemic when many parents feel unsafe seeking help in person. Instead of meeting in a clinic or home, this trial will offer the ATTACH™ program online, allowing parents to participate in training sessions from the comfort of their own homes.
To be eligible for the trial, parents need to have a child within the specified age range and agree to join the program, which includes 10-12 weeks of one-hour weekly training sessions. It's also encouraged for parents to bring a co-parent to some of the sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to important research while learning valuable skills to improve their relationship with their child and promote better mental health. Additionally, families will be asked to provide dried blood samples for research purposes, which will be collected in Calgary. This trial not only aims to support parents and children but also to create a safe, user-friendly online platform for delivering mental health resources.
