ClinConnect Summary
The Brain-Physical Optimization Conditioning (B-POC) trial is studying how to improve physical performance by focusing not just on physical training but also on how our brain works during exercise. The researchers want to understand how our thinking and mental endurance can affect our ability to perform physically, especially when we are under stress, like during tough workouts or mentally challenging tasks. They are looking to develop tools that can help enhance both physical and mental performance.
To participate in this study, you must be a healthy active-duty soldier aged between 18 and 40 years old. You should be able to participate in intense aerobic exercises and be available for the entire study. However, if you have not passed certain physical fitness tests, have a medical condition that prevents you from exercising, or are pregnant, you would not be eligible to join. If you take part, you can expect to engage in various exercises and cognitive tasks to help the researchers learn more about the connection between your brain and physical performance.
