ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding the experiences of extended family members who care for loved ones living with dementia. As many families are now sharing caregiving responsibilities, the study aims to explore how these caregivers manage their roles, what support services they use, and any challenges they face. By talking to caregivers, researchers hope to find ways to improve support services and reduce stress for both caregivers and the individuals they care for.
To participate in this study, you should be at least 18 years old and live in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, or Washington, D.C. You need to be an extended family member, like a grandchild, sibling, or niece/nephew, who provides care for someone with dementia at least three days a week. Participants will first have a phone interview lasting about 70 minutes, followed by daily check-ins for eight days to discuss caregiving experiences. This research will help create better resources for families dealing with dementia.
