ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "DNA Adductomics for Colorectal Cancer Investigation," is looking to better understand colorectal cancer (CRC) by studying specific changes in DNA in colon tissue. The researchers are focusing on patients who have conditions like Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), Lynch syndrome, or other types of colorectal cancer. These patients will be undergoing surgery to remove part or all of their colon. The study will also include control patients who are having similar surgeries for other reasons. In addition to colon tissue, the trial will examine blood and urine samples to find DNA-related markers that could help in understanding how cancer develops.

To participate in this trial, individuals should be between 65 and 74 years old and have one of the specified conditions that require colon surgery. However, people who are under 18, those who have recently donated blood, or those who may not fully understand the study cannot take part. If eligible, participants can expect to provide tissue and fluid samples, which will help researchers learn more about colorectal cancer and how it might be prevented or treated in the future. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to contribute valuable insights into the fight against colorectal cancer.
