ClinConnect Summary
The PVC-RAM-2 Trial is a research study looking at how virtual care with remote monitoring can help patients after they have surgery. Specifically, it compares this new virtual care approach to the standard care usually provided after surgery. The goal is to see if using technology to monitor patients remotely can reduce the need for hospital visits and improve recovery during the 45 days following surgery. This study includes a variety of surgeries, such as those for cancer, hip fractures, or urgent emergencies.
To participate, individuals need to be at least 40 years old and have had or will have surgery that requires a hospital stay of at least two days. They must also be able to communicate and understand the study's requirements. Participants will be involved in regular check-ins using a tablet to report their health status, pain levels, and any issues with their medications. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to gather important information that could lead to better care for patients recovering from surgery.
