ClinConnect Summary
The SPINUS II Study is a clinical trial that aims to determine whether spinal fusion surgery can significantly reduce pain and improve daily functioning in patients with certain types of lower back problems. Specifically, the study focuses on individuals who have been experiencing lower back pain for more than six months and have not found relief from other treatments. Participants must also have specific findings on imaging tests that indicate degenerative changes in the spine.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 65 and 74, and have chronic lower back pain without pain that radiates down the legs. It's important that they do not have other serious spinal issues, like tumors or congenital defects. If you decide to join the study, you can expect thorough assessments and monitoring throughout the trial. The study is currently recruiting participants, and anyone interested should discuss it with their healthcare provider to see if they qualify.
