ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether a specific probiotic called Lactobacillus reuteri can help improve healing after having an impacted tooth removed. The main goal is to see if taking this probiotic can speed up recovery from the surgery, while a secondary goal is to find out if it can help reduce stomach problems that sometimes happen when people take antibiotics, like amoxicillin, after surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult over 18 who is scheduled for an impacted tooth extraction and able to understand and sign a consent form. There are some criteria that would exclude you from the trial, such as having a penicillin allergy, certain health conditions, or taking specific medications. If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to either receive the probiotic or a placebo (a dummy treatment) and will be monitored for your recovery and any side effects. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it’s an opportunity to contribute to research that could benefit future patients.
