ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how to improve the physical and mental health of patients with colorectal cancer before they undergo surgery. The goal is to see if preparing patients through exercise, nutrition support, and mental health care can lead to fewer complications after surgery and a quicker recovery. The study will include 518 patients who are suspected of having colorectal cancer. Participants will be randomly assigned to either a group that receives these optimization measures or a standard care group that follows usual hospital procedures.

To be eligible for the trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have a strong suspicion of colorectal cancer. Unfortunately, those with severe cognitive impairment due to conditions like dementia cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect a structured program aimed at enhancing your overall health before surgery, and the outcomes will be compared to those receiving regular care. This research could lead to better recovery processes for many patients in the future.
