ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a special partnership between legal and healthcare services can help veterans facing housing problems, like eviction or rent issues, more effectively than traditional legal help. The goal is to see if this collaborative approach not only improves their housing situation but also supports their mental health. Researchers will randomly assign 300 veterans with housing-related legal issues to receive either help from this medical-legal partnership or standard legal services from local lawyers. They will follow these veterans for a year to compare their experiences and outcomes.
To participate, veterans must meet certain criteria. They should have a yearly income below a certain level, have a legal housing problem, and be involved in a VA mental health or homeless program. Participants will be asked to share their experiences with the legal services they receive during the trial. This study is currently recruiting participants and aims to better understand how combining legal and healthcare support can make a difference in the lives of veterans at risk of homelessness.
