ClinConnect Summary
The Shivering_Basel_Baden clinical trial is studying a new way to help women who experience shivering during a cesarean section, which can happen in about 40% of cases when certain types of anesthesia are used. In this trial, women will be divided into two groups: one group will receive a special treatment where warm water-filled gloves are placed in their hands to help reduce shivering, while the other group will receive the usual care without a specific treatment for shivering.
To be eligible for this trial, women must be between the ages of 18 and 40, be at least 36 weeks pregnant, and experience shivering during their procedure. Participants will be carefully observed during their cesarean section to see how effective the warm gloves are compared to standard care. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, it’s important to know that this trial aims to find a simple, non-invasive way to improve comfort during surgery.
