ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new surgical method for treating esophageal cancer called Robotic Assisted Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy (RAMIE). This technique uses advanced robotic technology to perform surgery with smaller incisions, which may lead to less pain and a quicker recovery compared to the traditional Open Transthoracic Esophagectomy (OTE), a more invasive procedure known for its high complication rates. The goal of this trial is to gather information and prepare for a future study that will directly compare RAMIE to OTE in patients with early to mid-stage esophageal cancer.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with clinical Stage I, II, or III esophageal cancer. They should also be considered suitable candidates for minimally invasive surgery, as determined by their surgeon. However, individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have Stage IV esophageal cancer will not be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive care from a team of experts and contribute to valuable research that could improve surgical options for esophageal cancer patients in the future.
