ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a medical procedure called mechanical thrombectomy on patients with a type of stroke known as acute ischemic stroke, which happens when a blood clot blocks a major blood vessel in the brain. The trial is taking place at Sørlandet Hospital in Norway, a facility that typically handles fewer stroke cases. To ensure the procedure is done safely and effectively, the hospital will use a special training program that simulates real-life situations. Researchers will closely watch how quickly patients receive treatment and track their recovery, including any complications that may arise.
To participate in this trial, you must be an adult experiencing a large vessel occlusion stroke, but you cannot have certain conditions like bleeding in the brain or other brain abnormalities. The study is currently recruiting participants aged between 18 and 80. If you or a family member are eligible and choose to join, you can expect to receive the thrombectomy procedure, and your progress will be monitored by the medical team to ensure the best outcomes.
