ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how a medication called dexmedetomidine affects blood flow in small blood vessels during laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is a type of minimally invasive surgery to remove the gallbladder. The researchers want to see if giving dexmedetomidine continuously through an IV during surgery can improve blood flow in the tissues, particularly in the area under the tongue, which may help the body heal better after surgery.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult aged 18 to 60 who is scheduled for a planned laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and is in good physical health (classified as ASA I or II). Unfortunately, people with certain conditions, like infections, obesity, or those who are pregnant, won't be eligible. If you join, you can expect to receive the dexmedetomidine during your surgery and be monitored closely to see how it affects your body’s blood flow and recovery. This study could provide valuable information about how to improve care for patients undergoing similar surgeries in the future.
