ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a combined exercise and nutrition program on older adults who have sarcopenia, a condition characterized by the loss of muscle mass and strength. The goal is to see if this combined approach can improve physical abilities, muscle strength, and overall quality of life compared to standard medical care. Participants will be evaluated at the beginning of the study, and then again 12 weeks and 24 weeks later, using tests that measure things like handgrip strength, walking speed, and muscle mass.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be between 65 and 90 years old and meet specific criteria for sarcopenia, including having metabolic syndrome. However, those with certain health issues, such as severe kidney problems or uncontrolled heart disease, won't be able to join. If you decide to participate, you can expect to engage in a structured exercise and nutrition program aimed at improving your strength and daily functioning. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it offers a chance to contribute to important research that could benefit older adults facing similar health challenges.
