ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how ultrasound can help identify specific signs of septic arthritis in the knee, a painful condition caused by infection in the joint. The main goal is to describe the ultrasound changes that occur over time in patients diagnosed with this condition. Participants will have their knees examined using ultrasound on several occasions: when they first join the study (Day 0), and again at Day 10, 6 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months later.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults who have been confirmed to have septic arthritis through laboratory testing. This means that a medical professional has taken fluid from the affected knee and found bacteria that indicate an infection. People with certain types of arthritis or those who have materials present in their joints are not able to participate. Throughout the study, participants can expect to receive a thorough examination of their condition and contribute to important research that could improve understanding and treatment of septic arthritis in the future.
