ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how well a new test called shear-wave elastography (SWE) can measure the health of the diaphragm, which is a key muscle used for breathing. Researchers want to see how the results from SWE compare to traditional methods of testing respiratory function, like measuring pressure when inhaling and exhaling. The goal is to better understand diaphragm function, especially in individuals who may face respiratory challenges.
To participate in this study, you need to be a healthy adult between the ages of 65 and 74. Unfortunately, pregnant individuals or those with known lung diseases, like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma that requires regular treatment, cannot join. If you qualify, you can expect to undergo a series of breathing tests that measure how well your diaphragm works. This study is currently recruiting volunteers, and your involvement could help improve respiratory health assessments in the future.
