ClinConnect Summary
The ACTIONcardioRisk trial is a study that aims to see how a combination of exercises and brain training can help improve thinking and memory skills in older adults who do not get much physical activity, especially those with heart health concerns. The goal is to find out if doing aerobic exercises (like walking or cycling) and strength training (like lifting weights) along with mental exercises can help keep the brain healthy as we age.
To participate, you need to be at least 60 years old and generally healthy, with good vision and hearing for your age. You should not have any serious memory problems and must be considered inactive, meaning you do not exercise much (less than 150 minutes a week). If you join this study, you can expect to engage in various exercise programs and cognitive training activities, all designed to support your overall brain health. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to research that may help improve cognitive health in older adults.
