ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving safety during aortic arch surgery, which is a complex procedure to treat conditions affecting the aorta, such as aneurysms and dissections. The goal is to find better ways to detect early signs of brain injury during surgery, which can lead to serious complications like strokes or confusion. By using new methods to monitor brain health in real-time, the researchers hope to prevent these problems and improve recovery for patients.
To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for aortic arch surgery. You should be able to understand and agree to participate in the study. Unfortunately, those with pre-existing brain issues or who cannot provide consent will not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive close monitoring during your surgery to help protect your brain and improve your overall outcome. This research is important because it aims to reduce the long-term effects of surgery and enhance the quality of life for patients.
