Out Of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Accidental Hypothermia Core Temperature

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Core Temperature in Patients With OHCA," is studying how to monitor the body temperature of patients who have experienced a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital. The goal is to use a special temperature probe placed in the esophagus to keep track of their core body temperature during transport to the hospital. This monitoring will help understand how environmental conditions and efforts to prevent hypothermia (which is when the body gets too cold) affect these patients.

Participants eligible for this study are adults over 18 years old who have suffered a cardiac arrest outside of the hospital and are being taken to a hospital for treatment. Those with obvious signs of death or severe injuries that are not compatible with life will not be included. If you or a loved one qualifies for this trial, medical professionals will insert the temperature probe while continuing essential life-saving procedures. This study aims to gather important information that could improve the care of cardiac arrest patients in the future.
