ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective certain treatments are for wind musicians who experience orofacial pain, which is pain in the face and jaw area. The researchers want to see if a combination of manual therapy (hands-on treatment) and exercises can help reduce this pain during music practice. They are particularly interested in understanding how well these treatments work over different periods—short-term, medium-term, and long-term—and which factors have the most impact on relief.
To participate in this study, you need to be a wind musician (like playing a metal or wood instrument) who has had orofacial pain while playing in the past month. You should practice for at least 20 hours a week and be between 18 and 65 years old. However, if you have certain medical conditions, like neurological diseases or previous surgeries in the neck or jaw area, you won’t be eligible to join. Participants can expect to receive either the manual therapy alone or in combination with exercises and will help researchers understand how these treatments can improve their playing experience and reduce pain.
