ClinConnect Summary
The Lipids and Energy Study is a research trial aimed at improving how we collect and analyze blood samples to study fats and energy metabolism in the body. This study is designed for healthy adults aged 18 and older who do not smoke and do not have diabetes. Participants will provide blood samples through a traditional blood draw and a finger stick. One of the finger stick samples can be collected at home using a special kit sent by mail, while the other will be collected at the research site. The blood samples will help researchers learn more about fatty acids, energy function, and other important health markers like insulin and glucose levels.
If you decide to participate, you will also fill out questionnaires about your diet, sleep, and physical activity, and have your height and weight measured to calculate your body mass index (BMI). The study is currently looking for volunteers, and it’s a great opportunity to contribute to important health research while learning more about your own health.
