ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the causes of chronic cough, which is a cough that lasts for three months or longer. One common reason for this type of cough is something called extraesophageal reflux (EER), where stomach contents go back up into the throat. The goal of the study is to accurately diagnose EER in patients who are experiencing chronic cough, whether or not they also have allergies.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 80 and have been dealing with a chronic cough, you might be eligible to participate. However, certain health conditions, like cancers in the head, neck, or lungs, as well as specific chronic lung diseases (except asthma), may prevent you from joining. Those who participate can expect to undergo tests to help identify if EER is contributing to their cough, and they will be helping researchers learn more about how to treat this condition effectively. If you're interested, this could be an important opportunity to find relief from your symptoms.
