ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a serious condition called infective endocarditis (IE), which is an infection of the heart's inner lining. The goal is to gather detailed information about how this condition affects patients, as current guidelines are based on limited data. By collecting data from a large group of patients at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, researchers hope to improve how IE is managed and how patients recover from it, especially since strokes can occur in about one-third of those affected.
To participate in this study, patients must have a confirmed diagnosis of infective endocarditis based on specific medical criteria. The trial is open to all adults aged 65 and older, and there are no restrictions based on gender. If someone chooses to take part, they will be contributing to important research that could help improve treatment for future patients. The only reason someone would be excluded from the study is if they do not want to participate.
