ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how anxiety during pregnancy affects the placenta, which is the organ that provides nutrients and oxygen to the baby. Researchers want to understand if higher levels of anxiety in expectant mothers can lead to changes in the placenta that might impact pregnancy outcomes, such as the health of the baby at birth. They will be examining different types of cells in the placenta that can show if there is inflammation or stress, which could affect the pregnancy.

To participate in this study, women must be at least 18 years old, currently pregnant, and receiving prenatal care at BAMC (Brooke Army Medical Center). Participants should also be able to speak English and be active-duty members of the military or their beneficiaries. If you join the study, you can expect to provide information about your anxiety levels and undergo some tests related to your pregnancy. This research is important as it may help improve understanding of how stress during pregnancy could influence both maternal and infant health.
