ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two different surgical methods for treating left colon cancer. One method is called total laparoscopic colectomy with intracorporeal anastomosis, which means the surgery is done entirely through small incisions in the abdomen, and the connections between the intestines are made inside the body. The other method is laparoscopic-assisted colectomy with extracorporeal anastomosis, where part of the surgery is done outside the body before reconnecting the intestines. The goal is to see which approach works better for patients undergoing surgery for colon cancer.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 75 years old and meet certain health criteria, such as not having serious heart or lung problems and having a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30. You'll also need to have specific stages of colon cancer and no history of certain complications or previous surgeries. If you qualify, you can expect to undergo one of the two surgical methods, and your progress will be carefully monitored throughout the study. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it's important to note that those who are pregnant or have certain health conditions may not be eligible.
