ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "COVID-19: A Scope Research on Epidemiology and Clinical Course," is studying how COVID-19 affects people and how it spreads, particularly focusing on those diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The researchers at the University Hospital Center of "São João" want to learn about the illness's course, identify factors that may affect how people respond to the infection, and understand the risk of getting reinfected. They will also look at how the virus spreads within households and analyze its genetic makeup to help develop better treatments and preventive measures.
To participate in this study, individuals must have been diagnosed with a SARS-CoV-2 infection at the hospital or have had a negative test result for the virus and be able to provide informed consent. Participants will be followed over time, with interviews and data collection happening at different intervals (3, 12, and 24 months), or as needed based on their health. The study has received approval from the local Ethical Committee and relevant authorities, ensuring that it respects participants' rights and privacy.
