ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of steroids given during surgery to see how they affect recovery for patients undergoing a specific back surgery called lumbar laminectomy. The focus is on how these steroids might help reduce the need for pain medication after surgery, how long patients stay in the hospital, when they can return to work, and their overall satisfaction with the surgery results.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be between the ages of 18 and 85 and scheduled for a 1 to 2 level laminectomy, which is a type of surgery to relieve pressure on the spinal nerves. However, those who have previously used strong pain medications daily, have certain health conditions, or are undergoing other types of surgeries at the same time may not qualify. Participants can expect to be monitored throughout their recovery to assess pain levels and overall health, contributing valuable information to help improve future treatments for back pain.
