ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to measure how well patients are doing after a specific back surgery called lumbar discectomy. Instead of using long questionnaires that can be tiring to fill out, the trial will use a simple one-question survey called the Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE). Patients will rate their overall function related to their back on a scale from 0 to 100. The goal is to see how the SANE compares to other common surveys, which can often be more complicated and time-consuming.
To participate in this trial, you need to be over 18 years old and planning to have a lumbar discectomy. However, if you've had previous back surgery, are a child, or have certain medical conditions, you may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to provide feedback on your recovery using the SANE survey, and your results will help researchers understand if this new method is effective for tracking patient progress after back surgery.
