ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how different medications can help prevent coughing during a specific medical procedure called bronchoscopy, which is used to examine the lungs and treat lung tumors. Coughing during this procedure can cause problems, such as making it harder for doctors to see clearly or affecting the patient's breathing. The trial will compare the effects of two intravenous drugs, lidocaine and alfentanil, with a placebo (normal saline) to see which option works best at reducing cough during the bronchoscopic spraying of local anesthetics.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be adults who are scheduled to undergo bronchoscopic procedures for lung tumors while receiving intravenous anesthesia. The trial is currently recruiting participants and welcomes all genders. Those who join can expect to receive one of the study drugs shortly before the procedure, and their responses, including cough intensity and breathing levels, will be monitored and recorded. This research aims to improve patient comfort and the overall success of bronchoscopic interventions.
