ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a procedure called peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) on patients with achalasia, a rare condition that makes it hard to swallow because of problems in the esophagus. The main goals of the study are to find out how common acid reflux and inflammation of the esophagus (called esophagitis) are in patients after they have the POEM procedure, and to understand what factors might influence these conditions afterward.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with achalasia and undergone the POEM procedure. Participants will be asked to sign a consent form agreeing to join the study. If you join, you can expect to provide some information about your health and undergo tests to check for any signs of acid reflux or esophageal issues after your treatment. This study is currently looking for participants of all genders, and your involvement could help improve understanding of how this procedure impacts patients in the long term.
