ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a training program called EndeavorRx, designed to help children with sickle cell disease (SCD) improve their attention skills. Children with SCD often face challenges with focus and cognitive functioning compared to their peers. The trial aims to see if this fun, game-like program, which they can use on a tablet for about 25-30 minutes a day over four weeks, can help them enhance their attention abilities.
To participate in this study, children must be between 8 and 16 years old, diagnosed with SCD, and receiving monthly blood transfusions for at least three months. They also need to show significant attention difficulties, as measured by specific tests. However, children with certain conditions, like severe intellectual disabilities or mental health issues, will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in enjoyable training activities that adapt to their individual performance, making it easier or harder based on how well they do. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and it could be a valuable opportunity for children struggling with attention issues related to SCD.
