ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a special type of brain scan, called an MRI, can detect problems in the brains of children who may have a condition known as focal epilepsy. Focal epilepsy means that seizures start in one specific area of the brain. The researchers want to see if using advanced techniques, like measuring the size of brain areas more accurately, can help find these issues better than standard MRI scans alone.
To participate, children aged 1 to 18 years who are seeing a doctor for focal epilepsy and need a brain MRI may be eligible. If families agree to take part, their child will undergo an MRI as part of their usual care, and researchers will compare the results with and without these advanced techniques. It's important to note that if a child or their parent does not want their information used in this study, they can choose not to participate. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve how doctors diagnose and treat children with this type of epilepsy.
