ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new treatment aimed at helping people with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) by using a smartphone app designed to change how they respond to alcohol-related cues. Previous research has shown that individuals with AUD often pay more attention to things related to alcohol, which can lead to increased drinking. The trial will involve 268 patients from alcohol treatment clinics in Denmark, who will be divided into three groups. One group will use the special app alongside their usual treatment, while another group will use a control app that doesn’t have the same features. Researchers want to see if the app can help participants reduce their cravings and drinking more effectively than the control app.

To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be between 18 and 65 years old, fluent in Danish, and have started their primary treatment for AUD within the last eight weeks. They also need to have completed any necessary detoxification. People with certain serious health conditions or color-blindness won't be able to participate. If you join the study, you’ll be assessed at the start, after treatment, and at follow-ups to see how your drinking habits and cravings change over time. This research could lead to new, effective ways to support individuals with AUD, making treatment more accessible and potentially less expensive.
