ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how effective certain medications, known as immunosuppressive agents, are in treating Thyroid Associated Ophthalmopathy (TAO), a condition that affects the eyes and is linked to thyroid problems. Researchers will use advanced imaging techniques to look at changes in the eyes and assess how well these treatments work. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 18 to 70 who have been diagnosed with TAO and can provide informed consent to join the study.
To be eligible for this trial, you should not have any serious infections like HIV or Hepatitis, nor should you have severe chronic illnesses affecting the heart, lungs, kidneys, or liver that would prevent you from safely taking these medications. Additionally, if you have certain medical devices, like a metal pacemaker or specific dental work, you might not be able to participate due to the imaging requirements. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive treatment and undergo imaging scans to help researchers learn more about the effectiveness of these medications for TAO.
