ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a medication called doxycycline to treat Thyroid Associated Ophthalmopathy (TAO), a condition that affects the eyes and is often linked to thyroid problems. Researchers want to see how well doxycycline works in improving the symptoms of TAO by using advanced imaging techniques to monitor changes. The trial is currently looking for participants aged 18 to 70 who have been diagnosed with TAO and can provide informed consent.
If you decide to participate, you will receive the medication and undergo some imaging tests to help the researchers understand its effects. However, it’s important to note that individuals with severe eye problems that could threaten their sight, those who are allergic to a group of antibiotics called tetracyclines, or those who have certain medical devices that could interfere with MRI scans may not be eligible for this study. Overall, this trial is an opportunity to contribute to research that could improve treatment for people with TAO.
