ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the connection between gut health and strokes in young adults. Researchers want to understand how an imbalance in intestinal bacteria might contribute to strokes, which are becoming more common in people aged 18 to 45. By examining the gut bacteria of young stroke patients, the study aims to find new ways to predict who might be at risk for a stroke and to improve treatment options. They will use advanced technologies to look closely at the gut's microbiome and its potential role in stroke development and recovery.
To participate in the trial, individuals must be between 18 and 45 years old and have been diagnosed with either an ischemic (caused by a blood clot) or hemorrhagic (caused by bleeding) stroke within 12 hours of hospital admission. Those with a history of certain neurological or serious health conditions, recent treatments involving antibiotics or probiotics, or who have passed away before providing stool samples will not be eligible. Participants will undergo tests that involve collecting stool samples to help researchers learn more about the gut's role in stroke. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it represents an important effort to better understand and prevent strokes in young adults.
