ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "DIAgnosing GDM usiNg Oral Sugar InStead," is looking at a new way to test for gestational diabetes (GDM) using Dex4® tablets instead of the traditional glucose beverage. The study aims to see if these chewable tablets, which come in different flavors and are easy to consume, can provide similar results while causing fewer side effects than the sugary drink. Researchers believe that using Dex4® tablets might make the testing experience more comfortable for women.

To participate in this study, women must be pregnant and have already received a positive screening result for gestational diabetes. Other requirements include being in a singleton pregnancy (carrying one baby) and providing informed consent. However, women who have used certain medications recently, have been diagnosed with diabetes before their pregnancy, or are allergic to any ingredients in the tablets or drink cannot take part. If you join the study, you can expect to try the Dex4® tablets as part of the testing process at around 32 weeks of pregnancy.
