ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of a medication called Dexamethasone on reducing pain and nausea after a specific type of surgery known as periacetabular osteotomy, which is often done to address issues with the hip joint. The goal is to see if giving Dexamethasone before or during the surgery can help patients feel better afterward and potentially use fewer pain medications.
To participate in this trial, you must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for elective periacetabular osteotomy under general anesthesia. It's also important that you can understand and communicate in German. However, there are some exclusions, such as having chronic pain conditions, recent use of steroids, or certain health issues like kidney or liver failure. If you join the study, you can expect close monitoring for your pain and nausea after the surgery, and you’ll be contributing to research that may help improve recovery experiences for future patients.
